Mani Monday 6-20-2016

Mani Monday 6-20-2016

A couple weeks ago I decided it was time to get my nails back! I'm a horrid nail biter and I wanted to start growing my natural nail out - I can only seem to hold off gnawing my nails off by getting acrylics. So I did! And I went with an almond shape instead of the a square shape and chose a super pretty periwinkle color.

Please excuse the growth this is almost a week after they were done!

I'm super in love with this length and the color - I just need color recommendations for the next time!

Last Minute Father's Day Gifts

Last Minute Father's Day Gifts

I try to not buy gifts last minute - but that never seems to happen. WHOOPS.

1. Golf Balls & Golf Tees
If your Dad is an avid golfer they always seem to need these! (no srsly my Dad always asks for these on Fathers day)

2. Amazon Fire Stick
This amazing little stick just plugs into the HDMI port on the TV, connects to Wifi, and Viola! Amazon on your TV. We ended up buying more because it was so useful and now we've got one too.

3. Fitbit
For the health-conscious Dad. (aka not mine)

4. Outdoor Grill
Last year (I think) my family all got together and bought my Dad a really nice grill + some accessories. He loves it and uses it as often as he can now!

5. Wristwatch
If you Dad wears a watch there are TONS of nice looking and affordable watches out there.

But don't forget the importance of just a card! My grandfather is a man who wants not and needs not - so I always end up just buying a card and popping a gift card for a restaurant he frequents inside. I know they get used because he always tells me that they come in handy.

Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Unboxing

Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Unboxing

I honestly don't know what's going on with my mail lately - but all my boxes are getting SUPER beat up in transit. This seasons Walmart beauty box is super pretty - even if it is a little dinged up. Orchids are one of my favorite flowers - so seeing a bright yellow on on the box really grabbed my attention.
See - super cute!

Opening the box its just the normal unboxing stuff - the inside of the box is a really pretty pink and there is the little intro card. Its lets you know which hashtags to use and which season this box is for. If you didn't already know - the Walmart Beauty subscription is a quarterly box. Meaning that you get one box 4x a year and it's free! (but has $5 shipping).

All of the boxes I've received are packaged like this and I've honestly never had a box come in this damaged before. It's okay this time though - nothing inside was damaged.

This is the contents of this box. It was honestly a little underwhelming because a lot of this stuff I had actually already gotten in previous boxes. The St. Ives face wash, shampoo and conditioner, and perfume samples were things I've already received. I never seem to use the shampoo and conditioners that come in these boxes - so they end up just taking up space in a drawer where I keep these things. They also sent toothpaste (although a different one) and a different tanning lotion in last quarter's box as well.

The other two things though were totally awesome. The nail art strips are super cute (blue roses!) and the Vaseline moisturizer is for very dry skin (which is me). I'm already using the moisturizer and I'll probably be grabbing a couple of these nail art strips from the store for when I travel to Japan!

This honestly wasn't the best box I've ever received - but it was only $5. I'll probably continue my subscription though, because even for the duplicates I'll end up giving them to friends who want them.

May 2016 Erin Condren Planner Spreads

May Erin Condren Planner Spreads

May was weird for me, mainly because for 2 weeks this month I didn't really decorate it. The 1st week I was straight out of surgery so I didn't have the energy to decorate. The last week I honestly just wasn't that inspired. Either way - here's 3 spreads for this month.

Kohl's Haul - Dresses, Shoes, and Luggage!

Kohl's Haul

Okay so before you go all judgey on me because I'm posting two hauls in a row - this one was made in 2 trips. I went to Kohl's one day with my Gram and did the normal shopping thing, pull 6 dresses - hit the changing rooms - expect to hate everything. Problem: I didn't. I liked all 6. My gram ended up buying me 3 of these dresses because she's a saint and had Kohl's cash to spend. And then I ended up with more Kohl's cash ($80 between the two of us) and I made a second trip.
I also only know like 4 poses sorry not sorry.

I also bought some luggage for Chris's & I trip in August. It's a 3 piece black and white leopard print set. We'll definitely know it's ours when we are coming down the carousel.

The 2nd trip was a mission: get comfortable sneakers to wear while walking around Japan.
I ended up buying a pair of the most comfortable Skechers I've ever had grace my feet (listen they beat out the Nikes). Chris bought a pair of Nike running shoes that are super light and like the sneakers he's got right now (that are $120).

We got both pairs of shoes for $40. We had $80 in Kohl's cash and an extra $10. Now we just gotta break them in!

Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Every Memorial Day Chris & I spend the weekend with my family on the beach. So I enlisted my Brother to watch the dogs and my long weekend looked something like this...

Pool Days! AND I managed to not get my hair wet.

The bottom pictures are classic me. I was waiting for Chris to take his pictures so we could get a few sunset photos together (which is the above photo).

Memorial Day itself was seriously gorgeous out so we decided it was time to get the umbrellas out and relax by the beach. It wasn't too busy out when we originally headed out but the public beaches were steadily reaching our way by mid-day.

This weekend was just the breath of fresh air that I needed. I feel refreshed and ready for a short work week!
