What's In My Everyday Bag

The last time I did one of these, it was with my school bag/purse that was jammed full of school supplies. This time, it's my actual purse. And at the time of writing this, I have only a general idea of what the hell is currently residing in there.

First things first,  my purse is a hot pink coach tote bag with only one main compartment, two smaller slots for phones/pens/small stuff, and one zip pocket in the back.

Today I had originally planned a super quick and easy get ready with me for work, but I recently was changing my makeup bag and I realized how much crap I carry with me almost everyday. So I decided to do this instead.

Lets start at the base. For my face I've got an elf BB cream in beige, an elf powder in light, and a Milani blush in Coral Cove. I've talked about these essentials multiple times around here on the blog so why wouldn't they be in my everyday makeup bag?! The brushes I use to apply these things to my face are the elf flat powder brush and the elf blush brush. Both are faves of mine and I almost always have these brushes in my makeup bag.

The BB cream is perfect for the weather here in South FL as it is almost always disgustingly hot and I know you don't have to powder a BB cream, but I usually powder the T zone of my face so I don't look quite so greasy.

Next on my list is products just for the eyes! I didn't quite realize how much eye stuff I carried around but then again it wasn't until I went to take pictures when I realized I needed to empty this bag.

If you didn't know - I'm a pretty big potterhead! I was sorted into the house of Hufflepuff and my wand is a 10 3/4 inch hard cypress with an unicorn core. Judge me. I ran across this tag and coming off another Harry Potter weekend I'm down to answer some Harry Potter Questions.

1. Favorite Book?

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for sure! It sets us up to go on this absolutely magical adventure that I would enjoy for so many years.

2. Favorite Movie?

 Oooh, Goblet of Fire! I felt by that movie they definitely had the heartstrings of everyone (even those who didn't even read the books).

3. Least Favorite Book? 

Order of the Phoenix! I hate Umbridge, the entire book I was seething at her.

4. Parts of the books/movies that made you cry?

Hedwig dying!  So many tears.

5. If you could hook up with any HP character who would it be?

;) 

6. Favorite Character?

I had to be Hermione - I saw a lot of myself in her.

7. What would your Patronus be?

I would love to say something graceful like a swan or a doe, but knowing me I'd probably get something like a bunny. 

8. If you could have the Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak, or the Elder Wand which one would you choose? 

Aw man, probably the Invisibility Cloak.

9. What House would you be in?

Hufflepuff.

10. If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be? 

 Emma Watson for sure. She played my favorite character in the movies but she also has been so influential outside of her movie roles.

11. Have you played any of the video games?

I have tragically attempted to play the first video game - it was terrible. I never finished it.

12. If you were on the Quidditch team which position would you play?

Honestly, I probably wouldn't play Quidditch. 

13. Were you happy with the ending?

It may not have ended how I wanted it too - but yes, I was happy with how it ended. Although I will forever ship Harry x Hermoine.

#1 What's a nickname only your family calls you?

A nickname only my family calls me is 'Pup'. My Grandfather is the designated nickname-assigner, and when I was a kid that's what I got! Unsurprisingly, my little brother is called 'Baby Pup'.


#2 What's a weird habit of yours?

I have to set everything to sets of 5. The TV can't be on 12 - it has to be at 10 or 15. Also whenever I get out of my car I have to lock the car once, and then once I've walked away from it I have to click the little 'lock' button on my car again.


#3 Do you have any weird phobias?

Uh, I'm afraid of fire?


#4 What's a song you secretly LOVE to blast & belt out when you're alone?


I will literally sing anything if it triggers a song in my head. But there are some country songs that I actually like but will not sing in front of anyone else.

#5 What's one of your biggest pet peeves?

Spitting. I hate it when I see guys or girls spitting in public. I find it absolutely disgusting. I also hate that noise that people make when they like suck the back of their throat. Ugh - annoying!


#6 What's one of your nervous habits?


I bite my nails suuuuuper bad. I have since I was a kid.

#7 What side of the bed do you sleep on?

I usually like to sleep on the right side of the bed - but I pretty much just prefer the side of the bed that's closest to the door.


#8 What was your first stuffed animal & it's name?

My first stuffed animal? Man I don't know. I had this super large bear when I was a kid that I slept with all the time. I didn't name him though. He was just a big white polar bear.


#9 What's the drink you ALWAYS order at starbucks?

Venti Iced Passion tea lemonade. With extra sweetener - ALWAYS.


#10 What's the beauty rule you preach.. but never ACTUALLY practice?

Probably about how often you should wash your brushes. I wash mine maybe once every 2 weeks? But to be fair I only use like 3 and I wash the sponge I apply my makeup with more often.


#11 Which way do you face in the shower?


I always face away from the shower head unless I'm washing my face.

#12 Do you have any 'weird' body 'skills'?

I can roll my toes under my feet and stand on them?


#13 What's your favorite 'comfort food'/food that's 'bad' but you love to eat it anyways?


I love eating Country Fried Steak. It literally is so delicious and I love it but I'm pretty sure its terrible for you - I mean its fried steak with creamy white sausage gravy on it. And bacon.

#14 What's a phrase or exclamation you always say?

"Sweet baby jesus"


#15 Time to sleep- what are you ACTUALLY wearing?

Usually just a t-shirt. I have this one shirt that I have literally had forever and it is the most comfortable thing in the world.

Last week my blogging bestie made a new tag all about Makeup Packaging! And even though she didn't directly tag me in her post, I got this message about 10 mins after for posted it.

Which I'm pretty sure means that she wants me to do the tag. So I am!

 Have you bought anything just for the packaging?

Absolutely! I looove how Tarte, Urban Decay, and Too Faced package their products.

What limited edition item do you own that has the prettiest packaging?

Tragically, I don't own any limited edition items. (I think) I tried like hell to pick up the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette from last fall and EVERY TIME I went to Ulta, they didn't have it. I still feel some type of way about it.

What permanent item do you own that has the prettiest packaging?

I love the simplicity of the Urban Decay Naked Palette I own. But I have to say I love how Too Faced packages my Melted Liquid Lipsticks.

Pretty or practical?

I'm a practical and drugstore kinda gal. So while pretty is nice I'm all down for practicality. 

 Name the most practically packaged item you own.

Damn, it would have to be my elf BB cream. Its in a tube, has a pump, and the pump can be twisted off and removed if you want. Its simple and easy and I totally love it.

 Can packaging be pretty and practical?

Definitely! The UD naked Palette I own is sleek, with a bunch of shades that I actually use and while its mirror isn't large - it definitely gets the job done.

I loooooved the look of the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette (can you tell I'm still hung up on it?)

 What's the most boring packaging something you own has?
Its definitely gotta be some of my elf products - although most of them are black, they aren't always sleek. Some of them are even just outright oversized and poorly made. I'll continue to use them though because the product itself is pretty good for the price.

What do you look for in packaging?
Def something sleek and chic. I don't like products with bulky packaging.

I'm doing something brand new on Friday so in preparation for Friday's post I've decided to keep today's post pretty simple. It's nothing too deep or heart wrenching just something new that my fiance has been poking and prodding me to do to step out of my comfort zone.

1. When is your birthday?

January 29th! I was born on Super Bowl Sunday. For those of you who don't know what it is: Its when us Americans watch 2 teams of very large men in lots of padding tackle each other for a ball. Yay sports! Do the thing win the points!

2. What are 3 of your favorite colors?

Absolutely. I don't even have cable I just watch youtube and Netflix now.

Recently I've been addicted to Ghost Whisperer and Venture Brothers (just finished all seasons) on Netflix. I also love Scooby Doo. As for YouTube I really like to watch Grav3YardGirl, Seananners & DashieXP, and JennaMarbles. Wait, thats 4. Eh... Oh well!

6. What are 3 qualities you like in a best friend?

Uhm... For their name to be Christina, for them to be my FFB, and for them to always be there for me, judge me, and be honest to god truthful with me. (girl you best be reading this, SHOUTOUT!)

7. Do you like your name?

Sure?

8. If you have the choice to pick your own name, what will it be?

Ahhaha! You always have this choice on the internet. I was called Quinn for a very long time online, and sometimes I still am. 

9. What is your fantasy dream?

I would love to be able to travel for the rest of my life and see everything I possibly can.

10. Do you wear makeup?

Oh yes - almost everyday unless I'm giving my face and skin a rest.
