October Favorites 2016

October Favorites 2016

Monthly Planner from Japan
This planner is an adorable monthly planner that I picked up while I was in Japan. It is super easy to quickly jot down things and its smaller than my Erin Condren. I still prefer my EC for everyday lists and more detailed stuff - but for quick notes and post-its this monthly is doing its job nicely.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
I have a couple other colors of this - but recently I picked up two new colors: Vintage and Tea & Cookies. Vintage has been my fall love for almost the whole month of October, while tea and cookies are an awesome pinky nude that is perfect for all those work things I've been doing. I love the formula on both and the formula is super comfy. They wear down a little weird though and definitely give you a lipstick ring around your mouth. But for me, who sits in an office all day. No biggie.

Maybelline Matte Lipstick - Touch of Spice (660)
I wore this lipstick last fall and picked it right back up again this fall. I love it. It's gorgeous on - if you've seen a recent selfie of me, this is probably what's been on my lips.

Eyeshadow Palette
So I go through this phase of wearing one pot cream eyeshadows all over the lid and then I switch it up and decide to go back to using a regular eyeshadow palette and doing a halo eye is almost every shade imaginable. Right now I'm on the halo eye trend and have been diving back into the staple Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette. I love them for both everyday and going out looks, although I

Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
Because I've been obsessing over skincare and my nose has been a sticking point despite my best efforts. These nose strips are the best damn things for cleaning your nose pores. You just wash your face and while your nose is still wet you slap this thing onto your nose and wait like 15 mins. I wait until mine has hardened and pull it off. I've seen a definite improvement since I started using these.

Palladio Liquid Liner in Black Shimmer
I went back and forth between the Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black and this liner for the past few months. I always seem to find myself defaulting back to this Palladio liquid liner. This liner is super black and it's got a thick felt tip. The only thing that irritates me is that the bottles ALWAYS seem to shear at the neck before you even get a chance to finish the product.

Nerdy Stuff:

Secret Hitler
Before you go off and judge me - this is a board game that is kind of like 'Werewolf' or 'Do You Worship Cthulhu?' Basically you are split into two teams 'Fascists' and 'Liberals' - the goal for the game is to pass the right amount of policies for whichever team you are on. It's a deceit party game and the liberals don't know who the other liberals are nor do they know who the fascists are. The fascists however, know who Hitler is and who the other fascists are and work to pass fascists policies and elect Hitler into power.

Halo 5: Guardians
This is the video game I find myself playing more and more of. I picked up Overwatch and have been playing it a bit - but it got kind of boring and I had never played the multiplayer for Halo 5. To be quite honest I am pretty terrible at this game - some days I'll be playing super awesome and others I'll be playing like poo. Either way - I still enjoy myself and its a nice time-waster when I'm waiting around for time to pass. It also brings me back to when I played a LOT of Halo with some good people.

July Favorites 2016

July Favorites 2016

This past month has been a month where I've completely been obsessed with skincare. I've been trying new body lotions and face creams all month. I've got a few other random faves too!
Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion
My skin has been so damn dry and this heat is doing nothing to help it. I've just been using this on the super super dry parts of my face and I used it while my legs were peeling from being burnt. Its definitely been helping!

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for Fair to Medium Skintones
Once my legs and ears and whatever was done peeling I started using this on the rest of my body to help me keep SOME of the color I got while I was on vacation. It doesn't smell bad and honestly its one of the only moisturizers I've actually liked to spread all over my body. I seriously hate feeling like a slip & slide because of some of these lotions.

Garnier Micellar Water
This stuff seems to work magic to take your makeup off at the end of the day - and it doesn't burn your eyes!

Que Bella Moisturizing Eye Gel Masks
These are amazing little moisturizing masks for right under your eyes - and I love them. I put mine in the fridge and let them get cold (in the wrapper of course) and then I pop them on and they feel so refreshing and lovely.

Essie Nail Polish in Mint Candy Apple
I don't know what it is about this color but I love it when I've got a bit of a tan going on. Its definitely one of my summer 'go-to' colors.

Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Night Recovery Cream
This night cream smells good, works amazing, and isn't super greasy. I mean, ticks off all the boxes in my book.

Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Mauve Fetish
I've been reaching for a more neutral lip this summer - and this has just the right amount of gloss to color. Its not overly fragrant and looks great for summer looks.

Pokemon Go!
I'm a nerd - and I love pokemon. I've gotten up and around much more since I got this app. Also I enjoy naming my pokemon silly things. I've also written an entire post about Pokemon Go - if you are interested!

April 2016 Favorites

April Obsessions

So I've been out of the game for quite a bit - so I figured what a better way to hop back in the game than by writing an April Obsessions? Either way, these are items I've been moving for probably more than April, but they are def my go-to items.

Cute Notebook from Target

Isn't this notebook the cutest? I picked it up from the Dollar section at Target - it was $3. I wanted to pick up a notebook to help me learn Japanese and I figured why not pick up a cute one! It's the perfect size to pop into my purse and to take with me. When I'm watching things in Japanese and I want to look a word/phrase up later I jot it down in this little notebook!

Hard Candy Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color

This is an absolute fav of mine - I picked it up while I was at Walmart with my Grandma. I got the color Cherry Blossom which is a nice everyday pink color. The packaging in the store is adorable - they come in gorgeous tins and the product is inside. The packaging of the lippie itself is super slim and it's got a standard flat applicator. It's $6 for 0.23 oz.

SinfulColors Nail Polish in Supernova

Target endcaps are a love of mine. This nail polish was on clearance - I swear I think I paid less than a dollar for it. It's a super pretty neutral gold metallic that's perfect for spring summer. I wear it on my toesies a lot and it's going to be even prettier when I get a little bit of a tan!

My New Hair!

I got my hair done a little bit ago - and I've been in love with it since I got it done. It's a gorgeous combo of purple, blue, green, and pink! I got it done by Christine and if you are ever in the area and want to get some gorgeous mermaid hair - look her up!

15 Favorites from 2015

15 Favorites from 2015

1. Erin Condren life planner in the Horizontal Layout
Brooke totally suckered me into buying one of these majestic planners, now I'm never going back!
2. NYX Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen
Nyx Matte Lip Cream's in general are bomb AF - but Copenhagen is my favorite color. I've been loving it for fall/winter.
3. Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black
Best felt tip liquid eyeliner pen I've ever had the opportunity to use!
4. Elf Smudge pot in Cruisin Chic
Because I like eyeshadow that I can do with my nubs and at my desk - no brushes!
5. Maybelline Baby Skin face Primer
Super duper easy to use and smoothes my pores and holds my makeup really well!
6. Milani Rose Blush in Coral Cove
This was an impulse buy I wrote about here - and I'm still just as in love! Its become my everyday go-to blush.
7. Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Okay so I'm guilty - if you read my review you know that I wasn't the biggest fan of this in the beginning. But as time went on and I continued to use the pot I realized it was actually helping my skin. I've since finished said pot and now my face is breaking out. D:
8. Elf BB cream in Light
We all know this has been a go-to for me all year, its got awesome coverage, does not oxidize, and doesn't flash back! I even wore it for my graduation photos! (which came out great btw)

9. Cardigans
A simple black cardigan can take a weekend dress to a more work appropriate style. This year has definitely been the year of the cute cardi for me.
10. Jeans from Target
I hate pants, this is a well known fact - but I managed to find 2 (!!) pairs of jeans that I love and wear on the regular from Target. They've got just the right amount of stretch and are a perfect fit!
11. Pink Coach Tote Bag
I got this bag for my birthday (?) and loooove it. Its a large pink tote bag from coach and fit everything I need perfectly!
12. Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette
I lusted after this palette for a year and then I finally got my little nubs on it - it did not disappoint.
13. LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb
Bought on impulse while on a Lush trip - made my bath water a lovely shade of purple, made my skin feel like butter, and was supposed to be a gift for my mom - oops! ;)
14. Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
My go-to fash wash, it is amazing. I really can't say anything but good things about this cleanser - I love it and have recommended it to sooo many people who have oily skin and are looking for a good cleanser.
15. Regal Beagle Stitchery Bags
I've chatted about these bags a few times on here, I loved carrying my skull bag around for Halloween and their small over-the-shoulder bag are perfect for everyday!

July 2015 Guilty Pleasures

July Guilty Pleasures

AKA July Favorites. Just ya know - called something different. I don't think I've done a favorites post since like Feburary though. ANYWAYS...

My favorite TV show this month was definitely Steven Universe

I marathoned every episode that existed in two days. I haven't cried at a cartoon in a VERY long time. This one made me cry, more than once. Don't judge me.
I also marathoned another full season of RuPauls Drag Race - because why not?!

My favorite video game this month has definitely been Guild Wars 2. I finally hit lvl 60 on my first character (an Engineer, haha). It feels nice to be able to have the time to spend it gaming again. I really enjoy myself!

My guilty pleasure SONG this month definitely has to be 'Lean On' by Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MO. I don't know why. But I've been loving it.

Onto some beauty items! I've been looooving that new Leopard Dress I featured in my 'How to Wear a Leopard Dress to Work' post. I have however worn it a few more time on more casual occasions and its still a super cute fun but casual dress to wear outside of work.

My favorite lip product this month was definitely my EOS lip balm. My lips have been soooo chapped this month so I'm trying to combat this by remembering to wear lip balm. I've also been really enjoying my Jordana Moisturizing lip balms.

I've also been in loooove with the super pretty Coral blush that I picked up on impulse at Walmart a few weeks ago. It doesn't take much for the color to show and its super pretty. I featured it in two posts I've that much in love with it! But you can see what I'm talking about in the initial post when I picked it up here.

Annnd thats pretty much it. I got new pajamas but they look like old lady pajamas but they are sooo comfy I almost don't care.

February Favorites and Empties

February Favorites and Empties

I'm finally feeling back to normal! Well, sort've. I've still got a nasty cough and am exhausted around 2pm everyday - but I'm gonna power through! I missed an entire week of work and spent more time laying in bed and feeling terrible than I have in a very long time.

February is a short month - but I've got a couple favorites, an empty, and a new product to tell you about!

Favorites:
I've been having a very nude february and I've been obsessing over nude and neutral colors on both my eyes and lips.

My first Beauty favorite has to be another Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in 05 Honey Love. I've raved about these lip stains before and I still own them in 3 other shades. They are easy to pop into my makeup bag or my purse and are perfect for chapped lips.

I've also been loving the Milani lipstick in shade 43 Pretty neutral paired with their Color Statement Lipliner in shade 03 Nude. Its a really pretty color and I've been wearing it to work a lot and its an easy color to match with anything. The formulation is creamy and pigmented and I think is going to be a good neutral staple for spring.

Since I've been sick for what feels like half of the month of February so simplicity in my makeup was definitely something I was going for. This NYX shadow stick in Flushed is so simple but so very pretty. I just pop it directly onto my eyelids and finish the look off with some eyeliner and that's been the look I've been working with for most of this month.
I bought a new blush at the end of January after hearing rave reviews about it. It is seriously one of the most pigmented $1 blushes I have ever bought. I absolutely love it. Its the perfect pinky shade and I only have to use a little bit. I made the mistake of putting wayyyy too much on my brush the first time and ended up looking like a marionette doll.

My 2014 Beauty Favorites

2014 Beauty Favorites

I'm probably the last person on the face of the beauty blogosphere to do one of these posts - but the beginning of this year has been crazy already and the semester has already started!

Primer:
I'm going to be honest - I've only used one primer all year long. The elf Mineral Infused face primer - and I've had to repurchase it a few times. New year - new primer. I'm currently trying out Benefit Porefessional. But I'm a little worried about it breaking me out.

Foundation:
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Foundation. This foundation is so light, so easy to apply, and feels like a dream (haha) on my face. It also comes in a ton of shades and matches my skin tone wonderfully.

Eyeshadow Singles:
I love the Ulta Loose Powder shadows. I own them in 3 different colors and I'm loving them in Mesa and Sienna. Yes, two shades of nudes. But lets be real, they are gorgeous, affordable, easily blendable, and pigmented like crazy! They make getting ready in the morning so easy.

October 2014 Favorites!

October Favorites

This month I haven't really been trying anything that new makeup wise, but I did pick up a few things for my Halloween costume. These are the things I picked up for Halloween plus a few other things I've been really liking this month.

Please excuse the terrible lighting, time change is killing me.
Nyx Cosmetics Simply Vamp Lip Cream in Aphrodisiac.

P.S. The name of this lip cream is spelled wrong on their website, they call it Ahrodisiac.

I picked this up to wear with my Halloween costume, and honestly I find it transitioning nicely into my Fall wardrobe as well. I went away this past weekend for my cousins wedding (which you will get a full post about so don't fret) and took this along with me for the more informal nights. I find it to almost be a shade of brown on me, but I honestly like it. I don't know, transitioning to Fall is hard when you live in sunny south FL. Its a seriously creamy lip color, has lots of pigmentation, and has an average staying power. Like every lipstick it comes off on everything, but at some point you come to expect it so just tote it around with you like I do.

Ulta Color Pure Eyeshadow in 3 different Shades: Mesa, Olive, and Riveria.
This was, once again originally purchased as a piece of my Halloween costume (and they were on sale like 3 for $9 when they are usually $10 each!). These are loose powder eyeshadows, and can get messy. But the pigmentation they give is totally worth it! Olive is (you guessed it) an olive green, Riveria can best be described as a bronzey rust color, and Mesa is a light peachy-gold. For Halloween I used the Olive color all over my lid, worked Riveria into my crease, and then used Mesa to top it all off and highlight/etc. This was a dramatic and definitely not and everyday look, but I find myself reaching for just the Mesa color for a fresh daytime look. Thats not too heavy but makes me look awake and like I might actually be able to function for the day.
